Dr Sam Blackburn
Hello, I’m Sam — a Chartered Clinical Psychologist with over 15 years’ experience working in both the NHS and private practice.
I specialise in trauma responses and emotional regulation difficulties, including Depression, Anxiety, Complex PTSD, and Personality Disorders. I work with people who want to understand their triggers, develop healthier relationships with themselves and others, and build a more grounded and hopeful future.

I am registered with the HCPC (PYL31332) and the British Psychological Society (252244), and I am a member of EMDR UK.

My therapeutic approach is person‑centred and trauma‑informed. I work collaboratively with each client to develop a full psychological formulation, an understanding of how past experiences, current patterns, and personal strengths come together. This guides the therapy we choose and the goals we set.

I primarily use EMDR, CBT, and DBT, and I also draw on Compassion‑Focused Therapy, ACT, and Mindfulness‑based approaches depending on your needs and preferences.
For new clients, I usually recommend an initial call or email so we can think together about your needs.
